Jasmine Dragon Pearl is the perfect representation of a traditional, handcrafted skill and scented technique creating a fresh and well-rounded jasmine aroma.
The journey of our Jasmine Dragon Pearl began in spring with the harvest and then processing of the bud and tender first two leaves of the famous Fuding Da Bai varietal. The leaves submit to a light withering on bamboo trays followed by being pan-fried (also called “kill-green”) to avoid any further change in the chemical structure of the leaves causing oxidation. They are then hand-rolled in the famous “pearl” shape and carefully stored until the jasmine season reaches its peak.

The most fragrant jasmine blossom flowers bloom in summer and it is at this time of the year that the highest quality jasmine tea will be traditionally scented. The scenting process consists of mixing fresh jasmine flowers with the tea and letting the pearls absorb the fragrance between 10 to 12 hours in a temperature controlled environment. The tea is then separated from the flower and let to rest for a few days before this process starts again and is repeated a few more times.

Our Jasmine Dragon Pearl has been scented five times with Jasminum officinale flowers creating the correct balance of green, sweet and jasmine flavours.
